Why to wear socks for better sleep

‘If you sleep with socks on, you’re a psychopath’

This was my belief for wearing socks in bed. I don’t really know where it came from but probably because people said it was bad hygiene.

But recently I came across something interesting. I watched a video of someone saying that wearing socks in your bed can actually improve your sleep.

After doing some quick research, the benefits were quite surprising. It suggested that people who where socks to bed may fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer.

The science behind it is that lower body temperature leads to better sleep. Research suggests that wearing socks to warm your feet may lower your core body temperature and thus help you fall asleep faster.

After giving it a try I mostly noticed that I fell asleep a little bit quicker. (And the socks where more comfortable than I thought)
